Welcome to Mrs. McWay's classroom website! This website is designed to keep students and parents involved outside the classroom. Visit your class's "Online Classroom," and you will find study resources, past student work, information on upcoming tests and projects, and a list of units we will be covering this year. Visit "This Week's Assignments" for a list of in-class and homework assignments for the current week.
About me:
Hello! My name is Michelle Scaperlanda McWay. I am a graduate of Marquette University, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with bachelor's degrees in both History and Classical Studies. I received my Master’s in Education from Creighton University, while teaching middle and high school for two years at Lourdes Central Catholic in Nebraska City.
My husband and I recently returned from a year long pilgrimage, during which we traveled, worked, and discerned God's call. My interests have taken me far and wide, from a Catholic summer camp in central Wisconsin, to an archaeological program in Athens, Greece, to an investment banking company in Manhattan. My faith is an integral part of my life, and I love being able to pray and integrate Catholicism into my classes. I enjoy reading all types of literature, spending time outside, and cheering on my favorite football and basketball teams. |
Nothing is more practical than
finding God, than falling in Love in a quite absolute, final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning, what you do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, whom you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. Fall in Love, stay in love, and it will decide everything. From Finding God in All Things: A Marquette Prayer Book © 2009 Attributed to Fr. Pedro Arrupe, SJ (1907–1991) |
